event posterNext-Generation GPS for Enhanced Business Productivity: Because Time is Money, and Location is Everything!
The Office of Space Commercialization, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Space Enterprise Council, and the National Space-Based PNT Coordination Office co-hosted this public media forum on the business uses of next-generation GPS, which went online in December 2005. The event featured major companies and organizations from across the U.S. economy, all discussing the economic benefits of GPS and next-generation GPS.

event posterMarket Opportunities in Space: The Near-Term Roadmap
The Office of Space Commercialization, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Space Enterprise Council, and the Space Transportation Association co-hosted this workshop on potential new markets that could be established in space within the next few years. The event brought together traditional space interests with companies and organizations not typically associated with space, as well as government representatives, to identify realistic new markets and ways to remove barriers to entry.

Space Economic Data: Classification, Collection, Access, and Use
The goal of this event, hosted by the Office of Space Commercialization and the GWU Space Policy Institute, was to exchange information and facilitate a dialogue concerning space economic data issues on both domestic and international levels. The workshop examined not only the space industry but also other industries that offer useful bases for comparison.

December 1998

Assessment of Economic Impacts of GPS Modernization
The Office of Space Commercialization worked closely with NOAA and the Institute for Defense Analyses to develop this assessment of the importance of GPS and GPS modernization to the U.S. economy. Information was collected from a various industries through written surveys, telephone interviews, and a roundtable meeting in Washington involving numerous business executives and the Deputy Secretary of Commerce.
