Vice President Mike Pence announced the policy at today’s public meeting of the National Space Council.

Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross hailed the new policy, stating, “This new National Space Policy reflects the emergence of space commerce as a driving force for positive change in our economic and national security, contributing to America’s leadership in commercial space.”
