DOC, DHS Host Second Space Cybersecurity Symposium

On October 13, 2021, the Department of Commerce (DOC) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) held their second jointly hosted space cybersecurity symposium. 

Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves delivered opening remarks.

This was an applied cyber event, looking at cyber standards, the standards process, standards bodies, regulations, and federal acquisition requirements as they apply to commercial space. 

Experts shared their perspectives and suggested approaches to address space system vulnerabilities and the needs for industry-wide standards for cybersecurity.

This was the second in an ongoing series of events to connect commercial space companies of all sizes with the Departments regarding cybersecurity measures and policies. Over 600 space cybersecurity stakeholders attended.
