Public Meeting on October 2024 Space Export Control Rulemakings
On Wednesday, November 6, the Department of Commerce (DOC) hosted a public meeting to discuss the four space export control rulemakings released by DOC and the State Department on October 17, 2024.
The meeting featured speakers from the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), and DOC’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
Participants had an opportunity to pose questions directly to the export control regulators prior to filing individual comments into the relevant public dockets. The due date for comments on the Proposed Rules and Interim Final Rule is November 22, 2024.
This meeting did not seek to, and did not, establish industry consensus on any topic.
