NOAA Releases Draft Commercial Space Policy

On September 1, NOAA published its draft Commercial Space Policy for public review and comment.

NOAA is developing the policy to establish the broad principles for the use of commercial space-based approaches for NOAA’s observational requirements, and to potentially open a pathway for new industry to join the space-based Earth observation process.

Among other things, the policy designates the Office of Space Commercialization as the NOAA entry point for commercial sector engagement.

Public comments are due October 1, 2015.
