Secretary Ross Remarks to ACCRES
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross delivered remarks at the June 4, 2019, meeting of the Advisory Committee on Commercial Remote Sensing (ACCRES).
The Secretary discussed the ongoing rulemaking to overhaul NOAA’s commercial remote sensing licensing process. He told the committee, “Now it is time for the regulatory environment to match your agility and your ingenuity…. we must change the way we regulate in order to ensure the competitiveness of the American industry.”

ACCRES is a federal advisory committee providing independent advice to NOAA on matters relating to the U.S. satellite commercial remote sensing industry and NOAA’s licensing of that industry.
